Hi, I'm Miriya

I am a creative professional and recent UC Irvine graduate with a BFA in Dance Choreography and minor in Digital Arts. My work has always centered on connecting with people through creativity, whether that is through performance, teaching, live events, or collaborative projects.

Dance has been a huge part of my life for the past 18 years and has shaped how I work in dynamic and collaborative environments. It has taught me discipline, resilience, collaboration, and how to connect with people from all backgrounds. More importantly, it has trained me to stay present and responsive while working closely with others toward a shared goal.

Alongside performing and choreographing, I also love what happens behind the scenes. The curiosity has shown up in experiences like directing a dance showcase with nearly 100 performers to supporting events at Nickelodeon Animation, where I saw how many moving parts have to align in real time for things to come together.

What I enjoy most is being in environments that are active and constantly evolving. Whether I’m in a rehearsal, teaching a class, or helping bring an event to life, it’s excites me to work with different people, figure out things as I go, and help bring large creative projects to life.

Experience

Event Operations Intern - Nickelodeon

As an Events Intern at Nickelodeon, I helped plan and execute a variety of internal and external events, including the Kids’ Choice Awards Pre-Party, Variety’s 10 Animators to Watch, Pluto TV Summer of Cinema, Smurfs screenings, and wrap parties.
I also had the opportunity to work on a final project with the rest of the NICKterns where we were assigned to reboot a show and we decided on Danny Phantom. The creator made a guest appearance at our presentation.

Education & Engagement

I lead dance workshops and classes for groups of all ages, creating experiences that are fun and tailored to each audience. From school programs to community events, I focus on making movement an inclusive way to connect, build confidence, and celebrate creativity.

"Looking In" Showcase

Co-directed and produced a 15-choreographer dance showcase titled Looking In featuring 80-100 dancers, overseeing all creative, casting, and production decisions for summers of 2022 and 2023.
